If you have a Taiwanese or Chinese knock off of the real JPEG2000 DVR manufactured in Korea these files may render your DVR useless. The DVR's listed in this yellow section have two USB ports on the front and four audio inputs on the back of the DVR. One of the USB ports is the square type like you see on printers, the other is the flat type like you see on computers these days. These DVR's with the two USB ports on the front and audio on the back were first released roughly in the year 2006.

Down load these files to your computer. Un-zip them onto a USB thumb drive. Put the UBS thumb drive in the DVR, press the menu button on the DVR, put in your password, press enter button, arrow down to backup and press enter, select USB option and press enter, the DVR will find the firmware. Follow the instructions on the bottom of the screen. 

If you have a  4   channel with firmware 3.0  then you can upgrade to firmware 4.12 - Use this file (Click Here)

If you have a  16 channel with firmware  3.0  then you can upgrade to firmware 4.12 - Use this file (Click Here)

Late 2006 a hardware change occurred resulting in the version numbers being lowered. Now starting at 1.2
The DVR systems now have a PS2 mouse port on the back.
If you have a  4 channel with firmware   1.2  then you can upgrade to firmware 1.46 - Use this file (Click Here)
If you have a  8 channel with firmware   1.2  then you can upgrade to firmware 1.46 - Use this file (Click Here)
If you have a  16 channel with firmware 1.2  then you can upgrade to firmware 1.46 - Use this file (Click Here)

If you have a  4 channel with firmware   1.16  then you can upgrade to firmware 1.38 then use these files:

DO NOT INTERRUPT THE PROCESS OR YOUR DVR WILL BE A PAPER WEIGHT WITH NO POSSIBLE RECOVERY FROM THE DAMAGE.
